is goa made up of different intended majors? or is it people of the same intended majors?
Abbie Hopperton
30:44
Great question! It's made up of different majors.
Barb Garand
32:11
You will meet other students in your major through one or more of your required major classes. Generally you'll have at least one major class in your first semester.
Suzanna Farver
36:29
What if your child took a language but wants to do a different language? Do they still take a test and if so which one?
Barb Garand
38:18
We prefer students to take the placement test for the language they took in high school, but they still have the option of choosing a new language at Xavier
Taylor Dawson
39:02
When do we choose classes for fall semester?
Alex (they/them/theirs)
39:03
What is the requirement score to test out? I didn't catch the number
Abbie Hopperton
39:45
Hi Taylor- Good question. We will cover that process soon!
Barb Garand
39:47
The placement scores vary depending on the placement and our Modern Languages Dept. will decide which level to start with.
Abbie Hopperton
40:38
Hi Alex! Typically it's level 202 or higher, but depends on the major
Dani’s Iphone
41:28
If you already took calculus in high school do youhave to take it again?
Ben Spears
42:03
Is there a place we can find the results for the math placement test? When I took it it told me results were not available at this time.
Abbie Hopperton
42:06
Hi Dani! It will depend on your major requirements.
Gabby Wiernik
42:07
what if you are doing exploratory studies and do not know your major?
Barb Garand
42:50
High school classes cannot apply toward your Xavier math requirement, however you likely will place at a higher level or have a choice of a different math like statistics based on your major
Abbie Hopperton
43:09
Hi Ben! It takes some time to show in R2X I would check again. If it does not show up please feel free to email us at success@xavier.edu and we can tell you.
livie zimbler
43:35

What happens if you have transfer credits for a foreign language? Will they still be counted for foreign language credits?
Tate Clemons

If we took math or foreign language in a dual enrollment course, do we have to take the placement tests?
Dylan Fraley
44:56
If we already took the placement exam how can we view our scores?
Barb Garand
45:28
We will discuss transfer credit at the end of the slide show
Taylor Dawson
45:28
What if I have only taken one year of a foreign language? do I still have to take a placement test for that, or do I go straight to the 101 class?

Sarah Hissong
54:31
Do admissions prefer our transfer transcripts to be sent in electronically or mailed in?
Barb Garand
54:41
High school credits do not count toward your Xavier requirement, but if you took the class through a college or university we can award credit for grades of C or better. Our Admission Office will need an official transcript from any college or university you attended during high school.
Abbie Hopperton
55:09
Hi Sarah! Either one will work
Dylan Fraley
55:25
With COVID some colleges allowed students to take a PA grade rather than a letter grade, how do those transfer since they are not actual letter grades?
Tate Clemons
55:35
Will we need to take the language or math exam if we have college transfer credits for those?
Abbie Hopperton
58:09
Hi Tate! Yes, you will still want to take the placement exams.
Barb Garand
58:18
If you took courses at another college as pass/fail, we will do a review of the course to determine whether or not you can receive credit.
Clayton Smith
01:00:08

Abbie Hopperton
01:00:23
Hi Clayton! Yes they are all taken online.
